In order to avoid the very long crossing from Trevi nel Lazio to Zompo lo Schioppo it is possible to reach Filettino first and then the Valico della Serra with the public transport, then one climbs down the Abruzzi side of the trail reaching the small village of Meta, which belongs to Civitella Roveto.
