Vie ferrate on the Schiara

The Schiara, with its 2,565 meters high, is the highest peak in the National Park. By staying overnight at the 7th Alpine refuge, it is possible to explore, through a network of equipped paths for expert hikers, adequately equipped, physically and technically prepared, the imposing Dolomite walls of what Dino Buzzati called "the mountain of my life".
A classic ring is the one that concatenates, starting from 7th Alpine refuge, the via ferrata Zacchi, Berti and Piero Rossi (ex of Marmol). From the refuge, go up along the CAI path 503/514 to the rocky arch of Porton. Here starts the Zacchi ferrata (the most demanding of the three) which, with an altitude difference of 850 meters, leads to the Dalla Bernardina bivouac, in front of the Gusela del Vescovà. Here begins the Berti via ferrata which, with 250 meters in altitude, leads to the summit of the Schiara (2,565 m), offering an indescribable 360 ° panorama. Then go down the Schiara ridge to the Marmol - Sandro Bocco bivouac, where the Piero Rossi (ex Marmol) via ferrata starts, which leads back to Porton, from where you return to the refuge.
