The Southern Slopes of Tre Pietre and Pizzocco

Leaving from Cesiomaggiore, you can ascend the very wild Valle di Sant'Agapito, and reach Bosch dei Boi Mountain Hut (about 1,500m) along itineraries for expert hikers or across Pra Montagna, on the grassy slopes of Mt. Palmar. From here, any further trail upwards is strenuous, and the trail markers are scarce.
A classic but demanding hike is the one running along torrent Veses (Val Scura), which is very interesting from a naturalistic point of view. The trail gets to Forca Pass and Piani Eterni and ends at the plateau of Eràra-Brendui.
A well-marked ring-route is situated upstream San Gregorio nelle Alpi, with departure from Rùer, connecting the Bivouac Palia with Casèra Ere Mountain Hut. Much more demanding and strenuous is going beyond Forcella Intrigùs, and reaching Piani di Cimia and the homonymous Pass. Climbing to Mt. Pizzocco offers great views, but it is necessary to be well-trained.
Moreover, with an easy walk leaving from loc. Campèl you can reach the small church of San Mauro in Val Scura.
