Programs for Schools - School Year 2018/2019

Even this year the Majella National Park, through the network of its Environmental Education Centers, its Visitor Centers, wildlife areas, botanical gardens and Information Centers, offers the schools of any grade a rich program of initiatives including environmental education trails consisting of one or more meetings and outings, didactic workshops, hikes, guided visits, educational stays and summer camps. The goal is to make children and young people aware of the Park's natural and cultural heritage acknowledge by the law 394/1991 as having such a national and international significance that they require conservation actions for both the present and the next generations. The message for the schools has a high educational value, and it is proposed by using new methods fostering the involvement of children and young people with learning techniques through which they can "learn by doing" thanks to the discovery and the games. Children will undertake group works which encourage the collaboration between classmates, they will feel directly involved in the solution of an environmental problem with the help of role playing games, they will be able to give vent to their sensitivity and experience thanks to techniques like the brainstorming one. Besides the educational activities described as follows, it is also possible to ask the Environmental Education Centers and the other Park structures for customized didactic trails and for teachers' advices in order to plan the didactic offer by including goals and actions regarding the themes of environment and sustainability.
