It is a particularly protected woodland, to the extent that is one of the few Special Nature Reserves of Ticino Park. In Bosco Vedro, the Park organizes several study projects carried out in association with the Universities and, in particular, there are the reproduction enclosures for otters, the bird ringing center (open to visits), and wetlands where the European freshwater crayfish and the European pond terrapin will be reintroduced.
