The village of Stagnali, in Caprera Island, houses the most important visitor center of the Park, that is the Environmental Education Center (CEA), including the Park Museums and other interesting tourist structures where past and present, history and nature, culture and tradition blend in a fascinating marriage. The implementation of the activities promoted by the associations operating inside the former military barracks, renovated by the Park Authority over the years, has been made possible thanks to the investments of the Park Authority and its will to preserve the cultural heritage for the future.
The C.E.A. also houses the Dolphin Research Center
, a structure which carries out research and monitoring activities on the cetaceans of the Archipelago all year round; the Museum of the Sea and of the Sailors' Traditions
, telling the tales of many men and women who lived in the islands, indissolubly binding their lives to the sea; the Naturalistic Geo-Mineralogical Museum
, dedicated to the territory and its particular geological features; the Knowledge Workshop
, an innovative didactic and environmental education space.
Tourists who would like to discover the issues of landscape and nature protection of these places, discovering at the same time a place with a unique charm, can reach Borgo di Stagnali from La Maddalena Island by their own car or by public means of transport in only fifteen minutes.
