In the Visitor Center of Oglio Sud Park, in a hall of the Ecomuseum Oglio Chiese, you can find the essential information to understand the birth and the evolution of the Park territory. Together with pictures, an interactive map will lead you to discover two itineraries: the historical itinerary and the naturalistic itinerary. Four panels describe the most important environments, and a series of surprise boxes and sound stimuli will lead to recognize some of the most characteristic animals of the Park.
Environmental Education Labs
Oglio Sud Park, thanks to a co-financing of 90,000 Euros by GAL Oglio Po and the Municipalities of Canneto sull'Oglio, Marcaria, and Viadana obtained thanks to a specific announcement in July 2004, has created three environmental education labs. They are provided with furnishing, scientific equipment, multimedia instruments, books and manuals, etc.
Each lab has a Coordination Table consisting of a contact from the Park and representatives from the Municipality, schools, associations, local authorities, and aims at suggesting activities dedicated both to schools and citizens.
All the educational labs are easily accessible, since the three Municipalities have a railway station.
In particular, Marcaria environmental education lab should be considered the Visitor Center of Torbiere di Marcaria Nature Reserve, just a few hundred meters away.
The above-mentioned co-financing has limited the investment typology to the material goods, while the costs regarding the professional offices for the elaboration, planning, and environmental education "in the classroom" will be covered by the Park.
With this project, Oglio Sud Park aims at promoting the activity of the labs, supporting new educational activities, stimulating the Park's inhabitants to thoroughly discover the issues related to the place they live in.
To achieve these aims, in the latest months it organized two successful evening conference cycles called "Naturalmenteautunno" and "Naturalmenteprimavera", dealing with environmental and cultural issues.
